It's Christmas Eve in the year 1944. Bob Wallace and Phil Davis are best friends - and in the army during World War II. Bob has the experience as a Broadway entertainer, while Phil is an aspiring entertainer. Together they put on a show to celebrate Christmas Eve and their beloved commanding officer, General Waverly.
After the war Bob and Phil pursue their dream of entertaining and make it big in nightclubs, in the radio and on Broadway. Meanwhile General Waverly has opened a ski lodge and invested all of his savings into it. But he is at risk of losing it due to there not being any snow and therefore, no guests. Determined to see Waverly happy, Bob and Phil have a plan of saving the ski lodge. But is that possibly without snow?
